From Play to the Dining Table
Wouldn't it be wonderful if our children came running (on their own) when food was ready, if they eagerly ate the food served – and even stayed seated and enjoyed themselves at the dinner table with us.
But that's not always the reality.
Because children can find it REALLY difficult to transition from playing/screens to the dinner table. Just as they can find it hard to stay seated at the table – especially after a long day.
But fortunately, it is possible; they just need a little help getting there.
That's why I've developed this card set, which gives you the "3-step method" that helps you with the 3 most important steps in the entire meal process: Before the meal, getting to the dinner table, and the meal itself.
The cards are divided into 3 steps:
THE GREEN CARDS: Present games that help your child regulate and feel their body before the meal
THE RED CARDS: "Things you can say" that help your child come to the table happily
THE BLUE CARDS: Imaginative conversation cards/mealtime games that make it fun for your child to stay seated
About the cards
✔️ The cards are for parents with children aged approx. 2-10 years (I write "approx." because there is a big difference between children and their linguistic understanding).
✔️ There are 55 cards in total:
– 15 green cards (activity cards)
– 20 red cards (activity cards)
– 20 blue cards (conversation cards)
The cards can be used for…
✔ To help your child regulate and sense their body before the meal – so that their appetite can develop.
✔ To have a happy child at the table.
✔ For your child to find sitting at the dinner table enjoyable.
✔ To help you focus on the good atmosphere, rather than what and how much your child eats.
✔ To increase curiosity for food through imagination and presence.
✔ To build bridges for better cooperation at mealtime.
